Name: Sally
(Part II) Location:
Battle Creek, MI (USA) Story:
"... She had a couple of habits learned in hard times such
as saving food for later and hiding her toys so no other
cats could take them. I gave her a small cardboard box to
put her toys in, and she used it for quite some time. After
11 years, she has mostly forgotten her fear of not knowing
where her next meal was coming from, but she does still save
food for later. One day early on, I saw her killing and
collecting crickets. She had a pile of them in the corner of
the room under the stereo, and I knew she was saving them
for later so I didn't clean them up. That evening, she lay
down with them and ate them with obvious enjoyment. She no
longer eats bugs."
