5) Pick up the threaded
rod. Insert the rod into the center of the wooden
plug, and turn it until it stops. There should be about 5/8"
to 3/4" (16-19mm) showing above the wood (Figure F).
If there is a white line on the rod, it will be just below
the plane of the wooden plug when correctly screwed in. NOTE:
a spare threaded rod is provided for your convenience. When
you invert the sisal post after one end has been worn from
scratching, the rod may need to be loosened with a pliers.
This may damage the threads on the original rod. So you will
want to use the spare threaded rod to reassemble your scratching
post.
6) Position the round top platform onto the exposed
threaded rod. Turn the platform until it stops, and then one
more quarter turn. Do not over tighten. This may damage
the fasteners which hold the platform in place. Just tighten
the platform as described above. Your cat will not be able
to budge it. (Figure G). If necessary, tighten
the quick bolt on the base a little more.
7) You should have a completed scratching post as shown
in Figure H. Go get a cat and show off
your job to him. Then step away from the post and let
the cat take over.
If there are assembly questions or problems, please
contact us by e-mail, first, if possible. There is also a
